My name is Josh Harraway. I'm a director. I also rap as Dusty Roze.
 I've always wanted to direct a Tupac music video, but Tupac has been a little harder to locate lately. So, I spent the past few weeks turning myself into Tupac. Afterwards I shot the video I always wanted to make.

From the world of music to the world of film, regardless of the budget, wherever there's Harraway there's a way.

I didn't expand into films. I've been doing films since performing art school back in West Palm Beach. In fact, I originally moved to L.A. to pursue a screen writing career. I sold a script to a company called Nu Image films and worked on a lot of other projects before I flipped it and devoted myself to music more wholeheartedly. One of the projects was a script I wrote in 1999 based on a crazy experience I'd had in Florida. I was renting a crappy little room from this mean old Jamaican lady who was hella strict. One night I snuck my girlfriend into the house and all hell broke loose. It's such a funny story that I had to make a script out of it. I optioned it to a company in 2000, but nothing ever came of that. So just recently I was able to gather enough resources and produce it myself. Well, at least the first third of it. That's all I could afford to make. I'm using that short film to get funding for the rest of the movie.  It's hella funny. I sell it with my music CD at shows. Tone Blair makes a cameo and Scott Orlans did the soundtrack.

I sound different because I don't rap about the same exact stuff that everybody else is rapping about. I grew up in West Palm Beach, man. So, you probably aren't gonna hear me talking about my guns and drive by shootings. I'm an underground hip hop artist. I rap about time travel and space ships. I rap about the current Bush administration, Osama Bin Laden, surfing the internet for porn. Stuff like that. I mean I drive a Cadillac. It's a pretty nice ride, but you probably won't hear me rapping about my car. It's just a waste of time to me. Also I'm a tried and true writer. I've written novels, short stories and countless screenplays, so from the jump start my stories are descriptive on a level that most MC's never reach. Everybody who buys my CD tells me they've never heard anything like my music before. It's so different. But--most importantly--it sounds good. Tone Blair does most of my beats and his style is very cinematic with bangin' drums. When you're listening to a Tone Blair track you feel like something crazy's about to happen. It's almost like you can see pictures through the music.

Harraway Films is a full fledged production company taking ideas from the concept stage to the screenplay. From production to post production and beyond.
